Are IAS officers VIP??

In India, most people look upon VIPs for their lifestyle and the respect they get from society in their normal day-to-day life. Here, you will be VIP if you are in any one or all of the categories i.e. if you are Rich in monetary values, Rich in the power of authority, or Rich in Popularity. There are a certain set of positions through which you will be considered as VIP, that will be discussed below,

       President

       Prime minister

       Chief Minister of the state

       Minister of the state

MLAs and MPs (but they are not allowed to use VIP lights or red beacons)

       Governor of the state

Lokayukta (mostly honorable retired judges hold this post)

Supreme court judges and High court judges

       Chairman/member of the commission

Advocate general of the high court

Theoretically, we general citizens of India are the ones who appoint most of these people, who call themselves as VIPs and we are the ones who can dethrone them whenever we want. However, an IAS, IPS, or any Civil Servant remains a VIP till they retire at the age of 6 years. People will still look at them with respect and honor them for the service they have provided.

An IAS Officer is a real VIP, and these are my reasons to call them one;

People of India or the representative elected by the people of India have no role in the appointment of an IAS officer, nor do these officers beg for votes to get them selected.

The IAS officer’s position is well secured and protected by the constitution of India. Neither the People of India nor the Politicians have the power to remove them from their jobs.

Till the end of the service, the perks and salaries of the officer cannot be reduced, hence their future is secured.

According to the law of land, all the power and responsibilities are on them. This means they are the real power of the center of India.

The real day-to-day governance is done by them, they are actually doing their job.

The reality of India is that don't need merit to become a Minister but to be an IAS officer, you need merit and prove your worth by clearing UPSC exams.

An IAS officer is given all the power to run a nation, and no minister or political party can take away that.

In India, an IAS officer is more respected than any politician.

These points are the only reasoning why an IAS officer is considered a VIP. They are the true citizens of India, who are working day and night for the betterment of the country through their governance.
