·        Former Independent Director of ONGC to be appointed as Chairman of India Tourism Development Corporation:

The former Independent Director of ONGC and BJP spokesperson, Sambit Patra to be appointed as a Chairman of Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Tourism Ministry of splitting the post of Chairman and Managing Director of ITDC to the Chairman, ITDC, and Managing Director (MD), ITDC. Sambit Patra will work as a part-time Non-Executive Director And Chairman of ITDC for the period of 3 years. IAS officer Ganji Kamala V. Rao from batch 1990 will be working as Managing Director at ITDC till further notice.

 

·        22nd Hornbill Festival at Nagaland :

Hornbill is one of the most popular festivals in the Northeast to be precise in Nagaland. This festival is celebrated from 1st to 10th December. It is a renowned and A well-known celebration of indigenous warrior tribes of Nagaland, it includes a huge gathering for merrymaking in the form of eating, drinking, singing, and dancing. Hornbill festival is celebrated among Nagas to revive, promote, protect, sustain and showcase the rich heritage and cultural diversity.

 

·        General Atlantic appoints Ajay Banga as Vice Chairman

Ajay Banga will be taking his responsibility as Vice Chairman at Great Atlantic on 1st January 2022. According to General Atlantic, Banga will advise on strategic matters for the firm, its investment teams, and its portfolio of more than 165 growth companies around the globe. He was the former MasterCard CEO. After completing 12 years at MasterCard, he is going to hand over the reins to Michael Miebach. Ajay Banga started his career at Nestle India, also served as CEO of Citigroup Asia Pacific during his tenure with the bank for 13 years.

.1.1.       Agricultural Education Day :

Agricultural Education Day is celebrated all over India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India and Union Minister of Agriculture. This day is declared by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on 3rd December. India is prominently a farming country; around75-80% of rural India's population indulges in agriculture or related activities. Agricultural is celebrated to expose students and youth of the nation to various aspects of agriculture and its importance to the development of the country. Inspiring and attracting youth to agriculture and related subjects which will help them to choose career in this field and help them as well as nation in a longer run. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research Institutes conducts various events like Essay Competitions, Art Competitions, Exhibitions, and Interaction with Agricultural Scientists Administrators, and Farmers across the country to help in this goal.

.2.1.       International Day of Persons with Disabilities :

The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons was declared in 1992, by the UN general assembly resolution 47/3. This day is observed with the aim to promote the understanding of disability issue and fundamental right of a person with disability and to salute their determination. Every year at UN Headquarters in New York this day is observed which includes Opening, panel discussions and cultural events to celebrate raise awareness and promote the rights and perspective of a person with disabilities around the world.
