·        Bihar won Gold Medal at IITF :

India International Trade Fair (IITF) is a major tourist attraction fair held every year since 1979. This expo provides a common platform for the manufacturers, traders, exporters and importers. It displays a huge range of products and services from needle to automobiles.

Bihar Showcased the state’s art and cultural richness through handicrafts like Madhubani, Manjusha arts, terracotta, handlooms and other indigenous products this year. In last 7 years, Bihar won 6 gold Medals for Bihar Pavillon, and this time has been adjudged the 'First for Excellence' in display in the 40th IIFT in the category of the State Government or Union Territory pavilions.

 

·        Anju Bobby George to awarded as Woman of the Year :

Anju Bobby George was awarded by World Athletics as 'Woman of the Year' for her efforts in advancing the sport in India. She inspired many women in the country to follow in her footsteps and also helped in the way by opening a training academy for young girls, which has already helped to produce a world U20 medalist. Anju Bobby George is a former international long jump star, who is still actively involved in the sport. She also mentors schoolgirls for future leadership positions within the sport.

 

·        Important Days :

.1.     National Pollution Control  Day:

National pollution control day is observed on 2nd December to commemorate the lives of people who died in the Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984. This industrial disastrous accident occurred in 1984 when the gas Methyl Isocyanate leaked on the night of December 2–3 and killed thousands of people. This day is observed to spread the awareness of managing and controlling industrial mishaps, prevent pollution produced by industrial processes or human slackness and make people aware  the importance of pollution control acts.

 

.2.     International Day for the Abolition of Slavery:

Slavery was abrogated centuries ago, but some sort of slavery is still practiced in one form or the other. According to WHO, There are more than 40 million people in the world who are victims of modern slavery. The term Modern Slavery is not defined anywhere officially but it can be termed as, practices involving human trafficking, forced labour, and forced marriages. This Day focuses on the elimination of these forms of slavery.

 

.3.     World Computer Literacy Day:

Every year on 2nd December all over the world, World Computer Literacy Day is observed. This day is celebrated to create awareness digital literacy, especially for women and children to ease their work life and inspire them to learn more. This day was found by Indian computer company NIIT to mark its 20th anniversary in the year 2001.
