Babasaheb Purandare,
a historian, died at the age of 99.
At the age of 99, Babasaheb Purandare, a well-known
novelist, historian, and Padma Vibhushan awardee, died. Padma Vibhushan was
awarded to the Indian writer and theatre figure in 2019. Babasaheb Purandare
was a well-known author and historian who specialised in Chhatrapati Shivaji
Maharaj's work.
VVS Laxman, a former
batsman, has been named Head of the National Cricket Academy.
Sourav Ganguly, the president of the BCCI, has revealed that
VVS Laxman, a former batter for the Indian cricket team, will lead the National
Cricket Academy. In December 2021, he is anticipated to begin his new job. The
news of VVS Laxman's appointment occurred after the former cricketer Rahul
Dravid's selection as Team India's Head Coach left the position empty.
The Habibganj Railway
Station has been renamed Rani Kamalapati Station.
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Habibganj railway station has
been renamed Rani Kamalapati station. The freshly renovated Rani Kamalapati
railway station was dedicated to the country by Prime Minister Modi. It is the
first world-class railway station in India. The new station has world-class
interiors as well as contemporary amenities and services comparable to those
found at international airports.
Hindi author Mannu
Bhandari passes away
Mannu Bhandari, a well-known and well acclaimed author of
Hindi literature, died at the age of 90. Mannu Bhandari was credited with
writing a number of novels in India throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s.
She was also regarded as a founding member of the 'Nayi Kahani' movement.
